County MWA
No Worker Left Behind Approved
Training List
The
following No Worker Left Behind (NWLB) Training List has been approved by the
Oakland County Workforce Development Board. These industries and occupational
titles have been researched and present at least a minimum forecast of growth,
demand, and wage in southeast Michigan. Training decisions will be made in
consultation with a Michigan Works! case manager. Training approval will be
based on a demonstrated potential and the ability succeed in a chosen field.
NWLB training does not guarantee employment at the completion of training.

know that many of the training programs for the occupations under Healthcare
Practitioners/Technical Occupations and Healthcare Support are SELECTIVE
ADMISSION only. Hiring companies are based in the Troy Michigan Area. Hiring companies will provide training. Representatives from Travel Merchants Inc and Made in the USA Products will be on site November 11th for a in person training and hiring session. This means the training institution has a process for
entrance into the program and selects the students to be accepted by how they
rank in the process. Letters of Acceptance are given by the
institution.
NWLB training approval
cannot be considered until you have the Letter of Acceptance.

| Occupations in the Green or Alternative Energy
Industries have not been noted on the previous pages but will be discussed
during the NWLB Orientation process and can be presented at an Occupational
Goal Review for consideration. |
| A Master's Degree is only funded if "Master's
Degree" or "Bachelor's or Higher Degree" is noted in the "Degree &
Certification" column K on the expanded staff copy of the Oakland County MWA
Approved Training List. See staff member for details. Note: Bachelor's
+ indicates "plus work experience, not a Masters Degree. |
| Skill Upgrade: You must have relevant and current
(within the past calendar year) paid experience with an employer in your field
of study to qualify for a skill upgrade: |
| Note: Mechanical Drafters, and Drafters, all other
you must have one year paid experience in the software you are requesting.
TCC does not cross train designers. |
| Teachers who request special certifications
must already be certified to teach in the State of Michigan. |
